Description
I found the small Irish town of Ennistymon in County Clare a feast of colors against a grey sky and grey stone streets. As I was working on the painting a woman peeked out her lace-curtained window at me. Soon her curiosity had to be quenched and she came out to see what I was doing. "Why would ye want to paint that?" I responded, "I think it is lovely." She humphed and went inside. Later as I was packing up she brought me a cup of tea and hot scones. As she looked at what I had done she remarked, "Tis lovely, I’ve lived here all me life and I never knew twas lovely."
